A Conversation at the Promenade ~ Chamber Opera Premiere

An original one-act chamber opera with music and text by Ian Ng.

This intimate opera takes place on a promenade at sunset, where two strangers share a brief encounter that changes them subtly but distinctly. The work focuses on close relationships:  between two people, between thoughts and feelings, between music and words. As the story unfolds, we witness how our characters’ emotional layers are stripped away, and the true meaning behind their words is revealed. The opera comments on the resonance of human interaction.

This work will be performed by mezzo-soprano Evanna Lai, baritone Timothy Renner, and pianist Dimitri Dover.
