Repeatedly described by listeners as “a shredder”, New York-based cellist, composer, and improviser Athos Maelstrom (they/them) presents an evening-length program of seminal solo works that form the foundation of their practice in experimental performance… and experimental being.

Featured composers include Julie Kim, Alicia Erlandson, Nicholas Tran, Alireza Khodayari, Timothy McCormack, JL Marlor, Arjan Singh Dogra, and Brian Ellis. Additionally, an appearance will be made by “The Boys” String Quartet: Sathvi Ramaseshan, Lou Barker, Sunjay Jayaram, and Athos Maelstrom.

This program marks the world premiere of Athos’s continuous commissioning project, OVERTRANSGRESSION.
