On FRIDAY, APRIL 12, at 7:30pm, there will be a concert in Benzaquen Hall, presenting Tcherepnin’s compositions inspired by his wife Lee Hsien-Ming, and by his enthusiasm for Chinese culture. Also featured will be prize-winning works incorporating Chinese musical concepts, modeled after the competition created by Tcherepnin in China in 1934.
THE FESTIVAL WILL CONTINUE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 13, 10am — 5pm, with lectures about Lee Hsien-Ming’s studies and activities in China, France, and USA. Also, discussions about Tcherepnin’s Songs on Chinese poems and folk songs, and Tcherepnin’s “The Lost Flute.”
