Ekmeles vocal ensemble performs works with and without strings.
The US premiere of Georg Friedrich Haas’s ……. with viola (Carrie Frey) and a new arrangement of Delphia Gaedhlica by Dan Trueman with violin (Giancarlo Latta) and viola anchor the program.
Along with the string premieres, Ekmeles will present unaccompanied repertoire. The world premiere of Tomás Gueglio’s Soap madrigals/Murmuring river, builds on the composer’s lyrical style with a further exploration into microtonality, inspired by the repertoire and history of Ekmeles, and the madrigal form.
Other recent works by Evan Johnson and Zosha Di Castri round out the program.
