Off the Map: Emissary Quartet

Emissary Quartet believes that the creative possibilities of flute quartet are unexplored and underdeveloped. “Off the Map” celebrates the winning compositions of EQ’s international Call for Scores, part of our ongoing efforts to expand the flute quartet repertoire. The program features new masterworks by winning composers Karina Baras, Sung-Hyun Yun, and Kai-Young Chan. Paired with established masterworks by Kuhlau, Bozza, Higdon, and Charke, the concert showcases the growing diversity of compositional voices in the flute quartet repertoire. The Call for Scores garnered submissions from over 180 composers hailing from 5 continents, and we are thrilled to have some of our composers in attendance.
