Premiere Works XXX: 40th Anniversary Concert

Music From China performs world premieres of Zhou Long’s The Hard Road and David Serkin Ludwig’s Kaifeng Siddur, both commissioned for the group’s 40th anniversary. Ludwig’s work explores the intersection of the two ancient cultures of China and the world of the Jewish people of Kaifeng. Zhou Long’s music is inspired by the rich imagery of Tang dynasty Li Bai’s poetry. The program also reprises award-winning composers Chen Yi’s Three Dances from China South and Wang Ning’s Guo Feng. Join us in celebrating Music From China’s collaboration with composers to create remarkable music for Chinese and Western instruments.
