The fearless PRISM Quartet (saxophones) joins forces with Rudresh Mahanthappa, hailed by The Guardian as an “alto saxophonist who astutely fuses Western and Indian traditions with mind-bending jazz rhythms,” in a concert featuring an astonishing cross-section of music, including Night Music by rising-star Emma O’Halloran from PRISM’s new album Animal, Vegetable, Mineral; I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE FOR MY TONE TONIGHT by Mahanthappa and John Coltrane’s Dear Lord from PRISM’s groundbreaking Heritage/Evolution project; Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino’s Pagine (Pages), a book of stunning adaptations of traditional classical works by Bach, Scarlatti, Gershwin, and Gesualdo; plus music by PRISM’s own Matthew Levy.
