SEA CHANGE Season Opener

September 15, 2017 @ 8:30 PM

The Chelsea Symphony is thrilled to return to The DiMenna Center for Classical Music for the opening series of its twelfth season, SEA CHANGE, featuring music inspired by the natural world. This season showcases compelling works with a focus on nature and environmental stewardship.

TCS welcomes back soloist Phil Rashkin to the stage as the featured performer on the Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Oboe Concerto. The evening opens with the world premiere of TCS composer Tim Kiah’s Endangered Song, a concerto for orchestra inspired by the desperate survival of endangered animals, and closes with Claude Debussy’s lush tour-de-force La Mer.
