THE EAR – A COMPOSER DUEL

November 16, 2018 @ 2:00 pm

  • This event has passed.

The Ear – a composer duel. Think ‘The Voice’ for composers, but way rowdier. Nuttier. Cheering in the middle of the music. Heckling the emcee. Drinking. Voting for the pieces you want to hear again.

Six composers vie for your affection in this irreverent classical reboot. Dress up with style and attitude and get ready to yell “Again!” if something gets your blood going. Hosted by Alf Bishai with lots of comedy, voting, audience interaction, nerdy shenanigans, and – most important – gorgeous music you’ve never heard before and will want to hear again. If you’ve ever thought, “I’d like to get into classical more, but don’t know how”…this is how.

“I fall asleep a lot at classical music concerts. At The Ear, I never once felt tired. I wanted more.” – Nick Gray, Founder of Museum Hack.
“A unique concert-going experience!”, “an invaluable opportunity to connect audiences with some of today’s most talented composers!” – Jenny Lin, Pianist.
“When I saw the tagline: a composition competition with beer, I knew it was going to be great,”- Mark Weiser, winner of The EAR 2015.
“The Ear is a party,” – Lisa Hogan, winner of The EAR 2016
